OUR STORY BEGINS WITH A PASSION FOR BBQ
Since hitting the road in 2017 we deliver an authentic smoked BBQ experience where the customers see, smell and taste the subtle smoke. BBQ is not a new phenomenon, however using modern smoking techniques and equipment, Smoke & Squeal takes comfort food to new heights. Pulled pork and brisket is a staple on the menu, however bringing cuts of meat like short ribs and pork belly will add an excitement not seen in the RI market. Smoke & Squeal is not BBQ, it is Smoked BBQ, smoking the meat instead of just throwing it in the oven makes our BBQ the best around.
At Smoke & Squeal BBQ, we focus on bringing out the natural flavor profiles of foods. We cook our meats low and slow over hickory and oak as well as add just enough spices without taking away from the smoke! You won’t find anything doused in sauce, but feel free to add any of our tasty ones.

We smoke our meats daily to serve you the freshest Rhode Island BBQ. Every dish on our menu is created in-house including sides, salad dressings, sauces, & even our pickles! Specials are made daily, and in limited quantities. Menu items based on seasonality and availability.

Full Service Catering
This service is for large parties, 100 people or more. We provide the food, hot holding, all plasticware, napkins and condiments.
Drop-off/ Pick-up Service
For smaller parties, we can prepare the food and drop it off at a requested time. We do not provide hot holding or the plasticware but can be provided at an additional cost.
Food Truck Rental
We’ll bring the truck to you. We fix a menu based off your preferences, show up and serve right from the window. There is a flat rate of $250 and a minimum requirement of 75 people.

A MAN WITH A PASSION FOR BBQ
Adam Batchelder, a veteran of the United State Marine Corps Reserve, served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in motor transportation, achieving the rank of corporal before his discharge. During Adam’s reserve service he was also enrolled at Johnson & Wales, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts in 2006. Since that time he has become an accomplished Executive Chef, Culinary Instructor and Food Service Director for a multi-national company.
Five years ago, Batchelder began planning his dream to become his own barbecue food truck owner and operator. Being a native of Massachusetts, he saw the saturation of food trucks in the area and opted to focus in Rhode Island. New and more flexible food truck legislation passed in Rhode Island, paving the way for him to open in the Ocean State.
Batchelder knew barbecue was his passion and specifically researched the best barbecue smoking equipment for almost a year before selecting his current smoker, a Southern Pride SGR400 smoker, which he incorporated into his food truck. Serving hot “out of the smoker” food versus reheated and transported barbecue separates Smoke & Squeal from his competition. His passion to succeed is demonstrated in every careful detail of his business.
